Ingredients

  • 5 lb. Pork Shoulder

  • 4-6 T spice blend mix (mix in this order, seasoning salt, garlic granules, black pepper, and onion granules to taste)

  • 1/2 to 1 C per finished pound JT's Original Louisiana Barbeque Sauce

Preparation

Step 1

Pat spice blend generously onto the roast (don't rub it in).

Step 2

Start cooking in a smoker or in the oven at 325 degrees for 30 minutes.

Step 3

Turn heat down to 275 degrees and cook for at least 3 hours or until the internal temperature reaches 200 degrees.

Step 4

Let the shoulder rest for 15-30 minutes, then pull apart or chop at an angle for irregular pieces. Trim and discard the fatty portions while cutting.

Step 5

For each pound of the finished product, use 1/2- 1 C of JT's Original Louisiana Bar-b-que sauce. Heat the meat and sauce on low until thoroughly heated; delicious on a hoagie bun or alone. Top with coleslaw.
